Home Inspection Services
We offer six service inspections: Home Inspections,
Lead Inspections, Mold
Inspections, Private Well / Septic Inspections, and Termite
Inspections.
Home Inspections
Doyle Home Inspections has a wide variety of inspection services. These
include:
•
Property analysis for proper drainage
•
Retaining walls
•
Exterior structures
•
Foundations are checked for cracks, moisture influx, and settlement
Electrical inspection looks for:

Loose wires, shorts, shock/fire hazards, and properly installed GFCI receptacles.
Plumbing inspections that look for:
•
Leaks, proper water pressure, and deterioration.
Interior inspections identify:
•
If the structure has proper heating ventilation, insulation, and vapor barriers.
Mold Inspections
A Mold Inspection is an examination of readily accessible areas of a residence
by a certified professional inspector to determine whether there are:
•
conditions conducive to mold.
•
areas that appear to have observable fungal growth.
•
conditions that exist which may warrant further inspection and/or testing
for other environmental concerns.
What is Mold?
Molds are part of the natural environment. Molds produce tiny spores to
reproduce. The spores waft through the indoor and outdoor air continually.
Mold spores are invisible to the naked eye and float through outdoor and
indoor air. They may begin to grow indoors when mold spores land on a surface
that is wet.
What you should know about Mold.
Mold is a fungus that could potentially hazardous. It can be found almost
anywhere. It is not known what quantity of mold is acceptable for indoor
environments with respect to health. Mold produce allergens, irritants,
and some cases toxic substances. Inhaling or touching mold spores may cause
allergic reactions with symptoms such as, sneezing, runny nose, red eyes,
and skin rash. The molds that produce airborne toxins may cause serious
symptoms, such as breathing difficulties, memory and hearing loss, flu-like
symptoms and bleeding in the lungs. Common allergies from toxigenic mold
are acid reflux, high blood pressure, head sweats, and asthma.
Potential signs of Mold:
There are many potential signs of mold such as,
• Stained ceiling tiles
• Musty, earthy odor
• Black, brown, orange, pink, or green speckled walls or around plumbing.
• Wood siding where the paint has cracked and water has intruded.
• Mild to severe unexplained illness.
• Leaky roof or flashing improperly installed.
• Leaky windows or doors
• Leaky toilet seal or bathtub drainage problems.
• Damp basements
• Lack or ventilation or humidity over 55%.
Contributing Factors:

Termite Inspections
A Termite Inspection is another name for a wood-destroying insect report. The report is more than just a report on termites, it also covers other wood-destroying insects such as Carpenter Ants, Powder-Post Beatles and wood boring Bees.
Also it is designed to report “conditions conducive” to WDI such as earth wood contact, excessive moisture and improper grade. The inspection is visible and non-destructive and does not guarantee structural soundness or guarantee against future infestations.
Lead Inspections
What is Lead?
Lead is a highly toxic metal that was used for many years in products found
in and around houses. Lead may cause a range of health effects, from behavioral
problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and death. Children 6 years
old and younger are at the greatest risk, because their bodies are growing
quickly.
Research suggests the primary source of lead exposure for children are:
•
Lead paint that is deteriorating
•
Lead contaminated dust
•
Lead contaminated soil
Health related injuries that lead causes in children include:
•
Learning disabilities
•
Brain damage
•
Loss of IQ points
•
Academic failure
•
Neuropsychological deficits
•
Attention deficit disorder
•
Hyperactive behavior
•
Neurological problems
•
Brain swelling
•
Major organ failure
•
Coma
